What Is an Attendance Calculator?

An attendance calculator helps students determine their current attendance percentage, the number of classes they can safely miss, and how many classes they need to attend to reach a required percentage. It works for school, college, university, coaching, and any other attendance-based system — in any country.

Universal & Standard Mode — For Any Country

Use the Standard selector above to instantly set typical attendance requirements for your region:

  • Universal — enter any percentage (1–100), default 75%. Works for any grading system.
  • India — 75% typical (UGC / AICTE).
  • USA — 90–95% typical, default 90%.
  • UK — 80–90% typical, default 80%.
  • Australia — 80% typical.
  • Europe — 80–85% typical, default 80%.
  • Canada — 80% typical.

All presets are editable — always check with your institution for the exact requirement.

How to Calculate Attendance Percentage

Attendance percentage is calculated by dividing the number of classes attended by the total number of classes held and multiplying by 100.

Example: If you attended 80 out of 100 classes: 80 / 100 * 100 = 80%.

How Many Classes Can I Miss?

Use the Safe Bunk Calculator. It finds the maximum number of additional classes you can miss while staying at or above your required attendance percentage.

How Many Classes Do I Need to Attend?

Use the Attendance Shortage Calculator. It calculates the minimum number of consecutive classes you need to attend without any further absences to reach your required percentage.

Attendance Calculator Formula

Attendance % = (Classes Attended / Classes Held) * 100

Missed Classes = Total - Attended

Safe Additional Absences = largest integer x such that Attended / (Total + x) >= Required / 100

Recovery Classes = smallest integer x such that (Attended + x) / (Total + x) >= Required / 100
